Real batteries do fit these sets, not as stated in other reviews Their construction is rugged and take a good knock! They come programmed with 15 out of 16 channels, working back to back but can be programmed using the KPG-87D software available on the internet to download. The batteries dont hold a charge for long so if you buy replacement ones for about £10 (from Ireland which give a one year guarantee) the sets give a good performance and an excellent range.
They transmit on 1 watt low power and 5 watts high power. It is very hard to spot the difference between the copies and the real thing. These sets come in from China and Asia and are priced around the £50 region, which includes postage. There are conflicting reports on the Internet about fake Kenwood walkie talkies.
